Research Associate Job

SENIOR RESEARCH ASSOCIATE needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in South San Francisco, CA.

THE BIG PICTURE:

- An opening for a talented Research Associate/Senior Research Associate to join the Small Molecule and Investigative Toxicology group in the Department of Safety Assessment.

TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Enzyme and/or cell-based assays
- Cell isolation and culturing techniques
- Molecular Biology techniques

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- The individual will work closely with toxicologists and pathologists to investigate mechanisms of toxicity utilizing in-vitro models.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, optimizing, validating, and executing biochemical and cellular assays to investigate the molecular pathogenesis of identified toxicology issues in our South San Francisco location.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- BA/BS or MS in cell and molecular biology, immunology, toxicology, pharmacology, or related field.
- At least five (5) years of relevant research experience in the development and execution of enzyme and/or cell-based assays in a variety of different formats, and advanced knowledge of cell isolation and culturing techniques and hands-on experience with relevant state-of-the-art molecular biology techniques (eg qRT-PCR, Western Blot analysis, ELISA, and reporter assays).
- Experience with hepatocytes, flow cytometry/FACS, immunohistochemistry, and enzyme kinetics is also desirable.
- Strong teamwork, organizational skills, and written and oral communication skills are essential.
