RESEARCH ASSOCIATE needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in West Sacramento, CA.

What You'll Be Doing:

- The primary responsibility of this role is to assist the Microbiology-Crop Efficiency team in conducting innovative research investigating the efficacy of unique microbial pesticides and conducting plant-microbe interaction studies.
- Assist with innovative Crop Efficiency/Plant Health research projects
- Quickly learning new techniques and then carrying them out independently
- Set-up and maintain laboratory tests and greenhouse on microbials
- Supporting other laboratory and greenhouse functions as needed or required
- Conduct laboratory and greenhouse bioassays to evaluate and measure efficacy on plant health, mode-of-action of biologicals and understand nature of beneficial interactions between plant and microbe
- Accurately evaluate assays, generating high quality and consistent data
- Collect and compile data and records in laboratory notebooks and other documentation systems
- Communicate research findings to supervisor, colleagues, and team members
- Exhibit good interpersonal and team skills
- Contributing to team work through collaboration with other departments
- Being willing to work outside of your scope of knowledge with adequate supervision
- Be willing to do work that is at times very repetitive and detail oriented
- Work in a greenhouse, outdoor field, or lab setting and sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
- Be responsible for keeping a safe and clean working environment.

What You Need to Bring to the Table:

- The position requires a B.S. in Microbiology, Plant Biology, Plant Pathology or a related discipline with a minimum one to three (1 - 3) years' experience.
- Candidate should be familiar with basic microbiology techniques.
- The candidate must have excellent technical and troubleshooting abilities, be highly motivated, detail oriented and organized
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Excellent reliability, strong oral and written communication, good interpersonal, and collaboration skills are required.
- Strong organizational and record keeping skills
- Good communication skills
- The ability to work effectively in a multi-project team environment and collaborate with colleagues to achieve goals

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- B.S. degree from an accredited college or university in Microbiology, Plant Biology, Plant Pathology or a related science with relevant laboratory experience.
- Experience in Plant-microbe interaction studies will be preferred.
