Research and Development Technician Job

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT TECHNICIAN needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Support ongoing efforts in formulation of developmental compositions for PV conductors.
- Data analysis that is matched with careful process observations will be required as part of the program support.
- Detailed work in the area of paste making, printing and testing is required.
- Training in PV paste making, printing and testing protocols will be provided.
- The candidate will report to an R&D Scientist.
- With guidance from supervision, they will assist technical personnel in general laboratory operations, routine laboratory and information handling tasks in support of scientific research.
- Perform tasks according to accepted methods and receive training prescribed by the work group.
- Account for materials transfers (process orders) in SAP
- Keep a lab notebook (electronic or paper)
- Weigh materials, mix and roll mill
- Measure paste properties (grind gauge, viscosities, and solids)
- Formulate pastes to meet viscosity and solids standards
- Printing of pastes onto photovoltaic wafers
- Firing of wafers
- Testing of photovoltaic wafers
- Learning and operating under safety practices and SOP's

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- BS degree in a scientific field, ie chemistry, chemical engineering, ceramics, metallurgy or materials science
- Demonstrated capability to work in an industrial R&D laboratory is required.
- Good time management skills, ability to prioritize work on multiple tasks, a commitment to work safely in accordance with practices and to follow QP's and SOP's in conformance with ISO standards are required.
- Demonstrated drive and initiative, excellent interpersonal and team working skills are all important to this position.
- Flexibility is important as well due to priority shifts and customers needs changing

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Computer skills in spreadsheets and statistical data analysis, knowledge of chemistry or materials science and the ability to work with electronic test equipment are desired
