Research and Development Technician Job

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT TECHNICIAN needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Clemens, Michigan.

The Big Picture:
- The Research and Development Technician will provide the preparation and evaluation of coating formulations including undercoats, basecoats and clearcoats using mixing equipment and various spray equipment.

What You'll Be Doing:
- With guidance from supervision and within established procedures, conducts routine research laboratory activities, information/data management activities or operates small scale production equipment in support of research and development.
- Identifies and suggests improvements in methods, plans projects of limited duration and scope, troubleshoots when erroneous or unexpected results occur.
- Responsible for producing research experimental results, or information/data management results, or assembling and configuring of small scale production equipment and control systems in a timely fashion utilizing a variety of techniques, effectively documenting findings and communicating results

What You Need to Bring to the Table:
- BS Scientific or related
- Expected to assist in the design of experiments, conduct those experiments independently and collect, summarize and present the resulting data as well as to troubleshoot problems as they arise in the laboratory.
- May be required to operate small scale production equipment in support of research and development.
- Identifies and suggests improvements in methods, plans projects of limited duration and scope, collaborates with research investigators when erroneous or unexpected results occur.
- Responsible for producing research experimental results, or information/data management results, or assembling and configuring of small scale production equipment and control systems utilizing a variety of techniques, effectively documenting findings and communicating results.
- Makes suggestions on path forward and contributes to formulating work plans and managing daily workflow.
- Provides safety audit functions within the laboratory in order to maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintains confidentiality.
- EXPERIENCE WITH TESTING, HANDLING, AND SPRAYING OF OEM AUTOMOTIVE COATINGS.
- 2ND AND 3RD SHIFT ONLY
