Requirements Engineer with Focus on Data Analysis - German Speaker (18

For a year long project with our client in Zurich we are looking for immediate support in the form of a REQUIREMENTS ENGINEER WITH FOCUS ON DATA ANALYSIS (1809)

The mandate encompasses Requirements Engineering/Data Analysis in a Data Warehouse (DW) setting.

Deliverables of these tasks are:

- Contract (Data Delivery Agreements) between source data suppliers and DW Staging for data sourcing. This also includes an interface definition which is the basis for the software development process
- Documented meta data on feed/file and attribute level
- Effort estimates for each iteration or project phase for own area of responsibilities
- Review reports as required

The candidate's responsibilities as a Data Analyst for the project include:

- Identification of source systems for data feeds into DW
- Liaising with data suppliers, placing modification requests and ensuring resource availability on data source system side
- Analysis of data flows from source systems to DW Staging
- Performing of Data Profiling with standard Data Quality tool (Informatica Data Explorer) and SQL on Oracle, and documentation of findings
- Classification and documentation of data attributes according to current Client Identification Data classification standard
- Elaboration of proposals for configurations of standard Data Quality rules for DW Staging
- Documentation of feed relevant meta data, i. e. feed/file descriptions and descriptions of main attributes of those feeds
- Elaboration of data delivery agreements as contract and interface definition between source data suppliers and DW Staging taking into consideration: economic efficiency, quality, feasibility and dependencies
- Agreement with source providers on data delivery agreement
- Handover of interface definition to software engineering
- Supporting project estimates and providing planning input regarding Data Analysis project activities to the Project Manager

Mandatory required skills:

- Working experience using SQL
- Working experience in large data warehouse environments, particularly in the Staging and potentially in Integration areas
- Experience in large data migration projects
- Knowledge of concepts like Meta Data Management
- Working experience in data analysis, also on flat files under UNIX
- Working experience with a standard Data Quality tool for Data Profiling
- Some prior exposure to Extract Transform and Load (ETL) tools, ideally Informatica PowerCenter

Optional skills:

- A good understanding of IBM/HOST is beneficial
- German language is a big plus
