JOB DESCRIPTION:

Will provide system engineering support for GFP Managed Services including defining requirements and interface agreements. The candidate will have knowledge of IP Networking - SNMP, IPv4. IPv6 and experience with writing system requirements.

The Requirements Engineer will be responsible for planning and engineering for large scale applications within the domain of Managed Services. Additionally the position has responsibility of working with the team to help define and enhance the Managed Services architecture for implementing sophisticated, intelligent end-to-end fault monitoring capabilities and Cross Services/Cross-Domain Correlation of alarms and alerts across different Network/Service and Fault domains. This position has responsibility for applying the Managed Services architecture to the Service Assurance mission, strategy and vision of One AT&T and Managed Services business programs consistent with Service Assurance Target Architecture. This involves development of a Common Model, identification of an efficient mechanism for collection/exchange of pertinent alarms, applications of different correlation mechanisms (topology-based, statistical-based), strategy for coordinating between service, intra-domain and cross-domain results, definition of a standard, web-based interface with process automation systems for efficient auto-ticketing. The goal is to identify an end-to-end root cause to a managed network problem that may be alarming across a wide variety of network technologies and the Global Customer Support Centers (GCSC).

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

1. 5+ years experience and in-depth network technology expertise with large-scale IP and VPN networks.
2. 5+ years experience as a requirements engineer for software engineering for design, development and testing of large scale integrated network surveillance systems.
3. In-depth network domain knowledge combined with advanced software engineering for Real Time, scalable and highly available network-facing systems. Detailed knowledge of IP Networks for complex Network events data analysis and correlation. Detailed knowledge of existing and emerging network technology, emerging software technologies, operational models and engineering rules and standards.
4. 5 or more years experience analysing and deciding on system technical architectures, producing interface specifications, writing detailed software designs, developing system test plans, and developing network and performance testing simulations.
5. Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, leadership and problem solving skills.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

BS and MS in one of the following fields:
