ROLE: REQUIREMENT ENGINEER

LOCATION: CORSHAM, WILTSHIRE

DURATION: 6+ Months Initially with possible extension

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- This is an important post critical to the development of the Future Beyond Line of Sight (FBLOS) Project - a Category A Tri-Service programme which will be a key enabler for all standing Military Tasks beyond 2022. FBLOS will provide successor services to those provided under the current Skynet 5 (note - this is a title) satellite communications (SATCOM) Private Finanace Initiative (PFI) by the Airbus consortium.
- The post holder is the lead Requirements Manager for activity supporting the FBLOS Project with responsibility for requirements elicitation/liaison between FBLOS project team, contractors and the Front Line Commands; and lead RM for activity supporting Deterrent C4 (DETC4) [5% effort]. The role includes the development and staffing of all requirements and acceptance documentation for FBLOS.
- This is not just limited to the User Requirements Document (URD), System Requirements Document (SRD), Requirements and Acceptance Management Plan (RAMP), and Integrated Test, Evaluation and Acceptance Plan (ITEAP).
- Other responsibilities include: the update and governance of the Master Data Assumptions List (MDAL) and the Third Order Assumptions (3OAs); the provision of requirements input into the FBLOS Operational Analysis Support Plan (OASP); and input into FBLOS approvals staff work and FBLOS Assessment Phase Plan;. The workload in DETC4 is also likely to increase.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

Military operational experience within past 5 years; SATCOM knowledge and experience (Skynet familiarity preferred); acquisition experience; ability to apply/map SATCOM requirements to military strategic and operational contexts; understanding of DETC4; experience with DOORS (MOD acquisition software tool) and ADMIS (for 3OAs); experience with RAMPs, URDs, ITEAPs and SRDs; experience of Operational Analysis (OA).
