Repair Technician

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a REPAIR TECHNICIAN to join our client in Rochester, NY.

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Repair Technician will be responsible for defined scope of moderate complexity and aligning efforts to business goals. In this role you utilize technical skills to meet day-to-day objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

- Performs Returned Material Authorization (RMA) root cause analysis, troubleshooting, testing, modifications, defective component replacement, and electrical and mechanical alignments as a part of the execution of component level repair of complete products and subassemblies across the Monitoring & Diagnostics (M&D) range
- Tests, repairs and modifies field-failed system parts and sub-assemblies to restore both proper operation and compliance to performance specifications
- Utilizes initiative and independent judgment in the performance of daily work tasks
- Performs visual inspection and advanced troubleshooting encompassing multiple variables and unknowns to achieve root cause analysis and problem resolution to the component level
- Conducts bench diagnostic tests as required to draw conclusions
- Performs software and hardware evaluation and executes test procedures using knowledge of board function, sub-system operation, and advanced test equipment
- Reads, interprets and comprehends technical documentation such as electrical schematic diagrams, test procedures, system block diagrams and service documentation
- Trains other team members through technical communications and/or presentations
- Provides strong individual contributions in achieving team goals and objectives
- Provides technical leadership by assisting others in troubleshooting, answering questions and seeking appropriate support
- Provides evaluation, constructive feedback and leadership in the development of new repair documentation
- Serves as the repair expert on assigned repairs by providing feedback to the business as new repairs are developed and new procedures are implemented
- Aids in the preparation and dispatch of RMA and field shipments
- Complies with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) regulations and policies

Job Qualifications:

- Associate's Degree with a minimum of 4 years of technical experience/Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering or a Technology related discipline
- Proficiency to logically troubleshoot at subsystem and system level, using identifiable problem solving techniques
- Ability to draw accurate conclusions from test data, malfunctions, or deviations
- Proficiency to understand and interpret basic written technical information
- Demonstrated ability to work well with limited direction and information
- Ability to communicate and integrate across functions within the business
- PC literate
