Reliability Engineer

Role: Reliability Engineer
Rate: up to £40 per hour
Location: Southampton
Duration: 6 months rolling
Start Date: 18th May 2015

This requirement has come from a long standing client achieving key milestones in the growth of their Electric Turbo Compounding systems fleet and plan to undertake a thorough systems reliability review. To support this they are looking to take on an enthusiastic and experienced reliability engineer to lead the project and drive the initiation of reliability improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

1.Undertake a top down analysis into fleet performance figures and product failure data to identify reliability improvement priorities.
2.Work cross-functionally and collaboratively with all departments to truly understand where they design in, build in and buy in reliability problems.
3.Develop and improve the reliability tracking, monitoring and analysis tool set.
4.Identify clear root causes for the most prevalent failure modes.
5.Work with each department to define reliability improvement projects that, when instigated will lead to tangible gains in product reliability.
6.Work with the Quality team to improve inspection and test procedures.
7.Support new product development team to ensure reliability is 'designed in' to their new products from the ground up.
8.Document reliability focused company processes and procedures.

Must Have:

*Degree in an Engineering or Physical Science discipline (or thorough experience in a commercial environment)
*5+ years of experience as a Reliability Engineer.
*Expertise in reliability analysis methods (eg RCA, FMECA, FMEA, FTA etc).
*Familiar with quality assurance processes.

Bonus:

Specialist experience in high speed machinery, or power electronics.
