RELEASE MANAGER - RELEASE AUTOMATION, CONFIGURATION, CHANGE MGT. TOOLS

For a project with the European Commission we are looking for a Release Manager.

INTRODUCTION
The unit R3 unit provides and supports IT applications systems required to manage DG CONNECT programme, financial, and administrative activities.

The aim of our request is to improve our Service Management section, specifically in the field of Releases of our systems and therefore we are looking for an experienced release manager.

TASKS

- Develop, implement and monitor release management activities for systems delivered by DG CONNECT:
- Implement, maintain and improve the release management processes for the unit with IBM Rational Team Concert;
- Identify and develop tools which are necessary to implement and streamline these processes:
- Automation of source management and activities system
- Monitoring dashboards;
- Interface between the development team and the production team for any activities in relation with releases of systems, including database modification; provide systems to ease as much as possible this integration
- In interaction with the test and development teams, implement the quality assurance workflow defined in the configuration management tool.
- Assistance to methodologies and processes
- Assistance to the definition of our internal methodologies and application life cycle management (Agile Scrum/RUP)
- Presentations and support of defined process and use of tools (RTC, RRC, RQM) to other teams
- Document all tools and processes in the unit Knowledge Management system (Confluence)

MANDATORY KNOWLEDGE:

- Proven experience in release management practices is mandatory.
- Expertise in release automation, preferable using the Maven 3 build life cycle and development of plugins
- Excellent expertise in configuration and change management tools (Rational Team Concert/Rational Clearcase and ClearQuest)
- Familiar with software requirements specification, software architecture design
- Experience in development with Java and communicating with external APIs
- Good practical experience with Scripting tools and linux
- The candidate will be required to be trained in RTC

LANGUAGES:
English and French mandatory
Good command of other EU languages

ASSETS:

- Knowledge of application lifecyle management
- A certification in Service Management would be an asset
- Experience in Rational Jazz tools (RTC/RRC/RQM/RRDI) and use of their APIs

A minimum of 9 YEARS of experience is required.
