Release Manager - Digital

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an IT professional with proven release/technical project management experience to join a leading enterprise organisation on a contract basis.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
This role will require the successful applicant to manage large and complex releases, including planning and tracking of schedule, management of scope and budget, management of release risks and issues, management of executive and other stakeholders, planning/co-ordination/management of production implementation activities. This role is critical to ensuring large releases are delivered on time, within budget and of an appropriate quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Manage releases within agreed budget.
- Identify opportunities to reduce release costs and refine estimation.
- Understand customer needs and perceptions and ensure their expectations are met.
- Manage stakeholder expectations to ensure release is successful.
- Manage releases to committed schedule.
- Create, manage and document release schedule, team resource plan, risks, issues and dependencies.
- Identify and implement process improvement
- Lead release team to ensure release objectives are met.

REQUIRED SKILLSETS:

- Hands on technical knowledge across .NET, SQL, WAS and Mobile technologies
- Project management experience
- Stakeholder management experience
- Team leadership and management experience
- Budget management experience
- Knowledge and experience in all phases of the software development life cycle.
- Agile experience.
- Enterprise level experience within a financial/banking domain.
