My client, a leading automotive manufacturer, based in Warwickshire, is looking to recruit a Release Engineer to join their Electrical Engineering division on a long-term contract basis.

Position Description:
This role is based within the ADAS team in Electrical Engineering. The ADAS Team develops and delivers driver assistance systems and features based on video, radar and ultrasonic technologies such as Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Automatic High Beam control, Intelligent Emergency Braking, Traffic Sign Recognition, Intelligent Speed Limiter, Rear View, Junction View, Cross Traffic Alert, 360 degree Plan View, Lane Change Merge Aid, Park Assist.
This release engineering position will be within an Architecture Module Team and will own the following engineering tasks and deliverables.
You will support the technical and project aspects of Bill of Material review and review in WERS Maintain BoM systems by interpreting and analysing documents from, and discussions with the Engineers to ensure accuracy and conformance to requirements.
Responsible for influencing and advising on all aspects of Bills of Material, Releases and Change Management, nurturing relationships with engineers.
Provide focal point to customers and suppliers at commodity level to ensure accurate & timely BoM release.
Manage workload to support programme timing, key project dates and departmental targets. Convert all releases from Project Engineers and follow through the WERS and SAP system to PO release to supplier.

Skills and Experience Required:
Knowledge of WERS, GPIRS and CPSCII Codes.
Enthusiastic and showing strong business behaviors.
Good communication, interpersonal skills, self-confidence and a 'passion for the product' are personal qualities needed to succeed in this high pressure environment, being self-motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision.
Proven skills in engineering activities in the automotive sector (OEM or Tier1).
Proven skills in the integration of complex automotive components (mechanical and electrical integration).

Education Required:
Educated to degree level is preferred, although other relevant engineering/automotive qualifications considered.
