Release Engineer

We are currently URGENTLY searching for a RELEASE ENGINEER for our international end client in Amsterdam, THE Netherlands.

This is a contract position for about 6 months with the possibility to extend! We are looking for a candidate who can start ASAP!

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a candidate that can analyse and define the needs of two departments

- The development department
- The platform department.

YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Be part of the development team and bridge the gap between our developers and infrastructure services provided by other teams.
- set up and maintain DTAP environments through automatic deployments
- Communication across the organization for upcoming deployments in Test, Acceptance and PROD.
- Keep configuration management for application environments up to date.
- Keep documentation of installation and environments up to date for distribution to 3rd
- Help our developers troubleshoot their applications in the various environments.
- Automation:

o Automate deployments of specific package versions to specific environments and maintain overview of what is running where.

o Automate packaging and binary distribution of python code for continuous integration in isolated/offline environments.

o Automate re-packaging of external/3rd party code for binary distribution.

o Ensure builds, packages and environments are in compliance with company policies.

CONTEXT/ENVIRONMENT:

- 64bit Linux CentOS 7 Server
- Complex Firewalls
- Isolated/Offline environments
- Local software repositories, binary distribution.
- Infrastructure provided by other departments (Virtualization, Cloud, HW, Network)

YOUR PROFILE

- Work experience with Release engineering
- Work experience with Java and maven
- Work experience with Nexus
- Work experience with RPM/Packaging
- Work experience with Scripting or programming
- Work experience with configuration repositories (artifactory)
