Regulatory Risk Advice Manager

Our blue chip North West based Client is currently looking for a Senior Regulatory Risk Manager to lead and operate a Regulatory Risk function which delivers clear, timely, independent and pragmatic expert regulatory advice and guidance. The successful Senior Regulatory Risk Manager will be required to have detailed General Insurance expertise or come from a Financial Services regulated environment. The Senior Regulatory Risk Manager must be comfortable working with very senior management across the Group.

The Senior Regulatory Risk Manager will have the following responsibilities:
. Develop and maintain effective and close working relationships with internal stakeholders.
. Support the development of business processes, procedures and controls to ensure they are properly mapped to FCA and other applicable rules and regulations.
. Provide sound advice to the business on any project/regulatory change activity ensuring it considers all regulatory and best practice requirements.
. Engage with the product design and approval process, providing review and challenge to new and existing product development and compliance thereto.
. Co-ordinate tasks and activities amongst the Regulatory Risk Advice team to ensure key deliverables are achieved within agreed timeframes.
. Develop, maintain and embed the Regulatory Risk Policy and appropriate Control Standards aligned to the policy, outlining the minimum requirements 1st line and 2nd line areas must meet. Undertake reviews of the documents as appropriate.
. Lead the development and maintenance of Regulatory Risk internal advice processes and procedure documents.
. Lead, monitor and manage the tracking of information/data requests from the FCA and PRA to ensure timely and appropriate completion by the business owners.

The Senior Regulatory Risk Manager will have the following knowledge, skills and experience:
. Subject matter expert for regulatory requirements applicable to the financial services sector;
. Knowledge of UK financial services industry, competitor activity, market developments and emerging market trends;
. Substantial knowledge and experience of managing Regulatory Risk;
. In depth, up to date knowledge of internal and external Conduct Risk developments and practices;
. Ability to translate complex regulation into practical policies and advice;
. Excellent communication, relationship building and influencing skills, able to present effectively at meetings with senior managers and executive directors;
. Experience of operating at a strategic level plus a proven ability to think strategically and transform strategy into delivery;
. Proven ability in relation to delivering, influencing and effecting change;
. Substantial experience of managing specialist oversight teams;
. Proven ability and experience of building strong networks across the industry; and
. Experience of operating at a Senior Management and Executive level
