Registered Manager - 2 month contract starting asap
£17.50 per hour
35 hour working week.

To ensure the effective day to day running of a registered care home with nursing, having overall accountability for ensuring the home is run in an efficient and safe manner whilst employees provide the highest standard of care to service users. To be responsible for providing a person-centred service for people with Dementia, including Early Onset Dementia, Korsakof`s Syndrome, Huntington`s Disease and associated complex needs, which include Mental Health needs, Physical Disabilities and behaviours that challenge services.

To deliver a quality service that meets the Statement of Purpose, and ensures compliance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2009, the Care Quality Commission (Registration) Regulations 2009, and the Essential Standards of Quality and Safety described by the regulations, which service users have a right to expect.

Principal Accountabilities

1.To ensure that service users are provided with care of the highest professional standards and that the service complies fully with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2009, the Care Quality Commission (Registration) Regulations 2009, and the Essential Standards of Quality and Safety.

1.To ensure the service is managed in a way which ensures cost and clinical effectiveness, and meets the wishes and aspirations of service users, carers and commissioners.

1.To liaise and engage with commissioners, relevant community mental health teams, service users, carers, other relevant stakeholders and placing authorities in order to ensure effective service promotion, access and full occupancy.

1.To contribute to the development and review of relevant policies and procedures and the development and delivery of service and clinical audits which ensure evidence based practice and agreed social and clinical outcomes.

1.To adhere to current statutory responsibilities including the NMC Professional Code of Conduct, National Service Frameworks, New Horisons, the Dementia Strategy and national standards (Essential Standards of Quality and Safety), good practice guidance (e.g. NICE/SCIE guidance), and clinical governance arrangements, in order to ensure an environment in which evidence based practice flourishes.

1.To ensure that each service user has an individualised, person centred , multi disciplinary care plan which provides for both the long-term and immediate needs of the service user and which includes a specific programme of leisure, and therapeutic activities, within the care setting and the community. To ensure that care plans are accurate, updated and empowering and constructed in consultation with service users, advocates, family and other relevant stakeholders.

1.To ensure that the therapeutic programme, promotes rehabilitation, reablement and social inclusion and includes activities of daily living (ADLs), and non pharmacological interventions for cognitive symptoms, non cognitive symptoms and behaviours that challenge and co-morbid symptoms.

1.To provide information to CQC to assist them in the process of regulation, inspection and monitoring.

1.To maintain accurate records and to write reports in line with contractual obligations and our clients requirements e.g. reports for care reviews, contract monitoring meetings, and develop and review policies, procedures and audits as and when required.

10. To adhere to the statutory responsibilities placed upon the organisation, for example Health and Safety at Work act 1974, Mental Health Act 1983, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2009, the Care Quality Commission (Registration) Regulations 2009.

11. To manage a team of employees ensuring that the Companys people management policies, procedures and processes are implemented and provide a professional, efficient and effective handover to all team members.

12. To demonstrate responsibility and leadership for promoting and championing all aspects of equal opportunities by valuing diversity in all areas of work.

13. To take responsibility for ensuring and achieving the objectives of the company health and Safety Policy.

14. To undertake any other duties in order to meet personal, team and organisational objectives following consultation with your manager.
