Regional Training Specialist - Diegem, Belgium
The Regional Training Specialist, Legal Education is a core member of the Legal Education global team, reporting to the Director of Legal Education and Training. The Regional Training Specialist is responsible for working with the Regional Legal Leadership team to implement, on a regional basis, the Law Department's (LD) global learning strategy and coordinate all aspects of annual Regional LD training plans.
Responsibilities:
Works independently to develop training solutions with content experts such as Regional/Board Attorneys and their teams as well as identified business leads and other regional organizations (eg HR, IT, Employee Relations, Healthcare Compliance, etc.) leading all aspects of the content development process from needs analysis to evaluation.
Provides input on LD's global learning strategy, processes, strategies and standards based on local needs.
Leads all activities related to curricula management and course implementation in region or for the assigned project team.
Works with support staff to direct the administrative functions associated with setting up in-person or live online legal education and training sessions including: audience identification and targeting, localizing communications, working with business to secure a location, ensuring adequate audio/visual resources, maintaining and summarizing evaluations of training sessions.
Conduct analysis of metrics data across region, present outcomes and make recommendations for improvements.
Partners with LD leadership to develop entity and practice-specific training plans within region as needed.
Partners with regional organizations regarding other legal/compliance training and business training functions to ensure line of sight, harmonization and coordination of Legal and Compliance training efforts in region.
Lead Matrix groups of LD subject matter experts to drive the creation or customization of educational materials and programs (live and virtual live) and/or train-the-trainer, based on regional needs analysis.
Review training materials to ensure consistency, identify best practices, and influence high quality content development.
Support communication of trends, developments and high risk issues that may impact local and global legal training. Communicate regional training activities, challenges and goals for global visibility and prioritization.
Ensure facilitators are well prepared to deliver training by coordinating and supporting train-the-trainer activities. Identify and communicate training facilitation competency gaps and assist in implementing developmental opportunities to improve facilitator performance in region.
Non Technical Skills and Additional Details
B.A. or B.S. (M.S. in education, organizational design, instructional design or related field a plus)
Experience in a training role applying adult learning theory to the design and development of learning materials (ie conducting needs analysis and engaging activities) managing training delivery and creating assessments for live, virtual live and E-learning formats
Experience adopting and incorporating emerging technologies, (such as virtual classrooms, mobile learning), strongly preferred
Experience with curricula design
Experience in pharmaceutical, medical device or similar healthcare industry
Experience working with Subject Matter Experts and/or training facilitators in a consultative role
Exposure to developing training content in healthcare, legal or compliance fields
Experience with Learning Management System (LMS) assignment strategies
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Experience leading in a multi-national environment
Cross-functional or cross-entity experience
Experience with multimedia instruction
Strong project management and organizational skills
Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills
Ability to influence, negotiate and think critically
Demonstrated quantitative analytical skills
Written and verbal English and Dutch fluency required.
Ability to travel regionally.
