Regional Head of Service Development

* With the Regional Director, being the commissioner's representative within NHS Direct to ensure effective and timely delivery of the NHS 111 service
* Ensure appropriate representation or attendance at relevant NHS 111 meetings
* Deputise for Regional Director as the point of access for commissioners of NHS 111 services

* Engagement with commissioners and other external stakeholders. The Stakeholder Manager will be responsible for engaging with commissioners in the local area to ensure their needs are fully met and promote awareness of the 111 service to other key stakeholders. The post holder needs to be able to interface effectively up to Chief Executive level in the absence of the Regional Director.

Working within the region as an ambassador for the NHS Direct service projecting a strong and positive corporate image, demonstrating integrity and a strong commitment to service provision

Promoting NHS Direct's services to local commissioners and in particular actual or potential delivery of 111.

Sharing the contribution NHS Direct can make across the wider region to inform the way that local services develop.

Ensuring widespread understanding within the health economy of the contribution that NHS Direct can make to wider NHS and social care priorities, with specific focus on 111 within the region.

Ensuring NHS Direct's services add value for stakeholders

Generating new ideas from local engagement

Making a valuable contribution to the design of solutions and propositions for stakeholders in response to identified needs

Sharing learning from the service across the region and the wider national service

Effective liaison with external service providers
