Red Hat Linux System Administrator/Engineer

For one of our clients we are looking for a Red Hat Linux System Administrator/Engineer.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Red Hat Linux System Administrator/Engineer with some multi-platform experience. The primary responsibility will be to manage the Red Hat Linux within a multi-platform infrastructure (Sun Solaris, RedHat Linux and MS Windows).

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

- Specifying, configuring and implementing all Red Hat Linux environments.
- Day-to-day support of the Red Hat Linux based production and development server environments.
- Providing technical support to development infrastructure projects.
- Included in production support, 7am-8pm on shift basis.
- Included in the overnight on-call support on a rota basis.
- Maintaining full documentation of systems, fault resolutions, and incident investigations.
- Testing of new software releases, patches and upgrades.
- Liaising with other technical support teams (Windows, DBA, Storage, Network, etc.)
- Liaising with development groups to ensure standards are adhered to.
- Establishing effective lines of communications.

KNOWLEDGE AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
The candidate should have at least 3-5 years Linux Red Hat System Administration experience in a large sized UNIX environment, preferable in wholesale, investment banking organisation or retail bank organisation.

- RHCSA Certified or equivalent

- Intel/AMD Hardware
- Virtualization tools
- Shell Scripting

- Backup and restore (TSM client)
- Monitoring (SNMP, HP SIM, HP Openview)
- Redhat Satellite
- Xen/KVM Virtualisation
- Puppet
- Experience of building OpenSource software and rpm's
- Middleware knowledge, Apache, Tomcat, JBoss
- UNIX Security and Compliance (SoX)
- Capacity Performance Monitoring Management
- Methodical fault finding
- HDS disk storage (SAN storage in general)
- iSCSI storage
- Solaris 10 zones zfs
- Veritas Volume Manager/Files-system
- Tripwire
