RAN Parameter and Feature Management
Strategic Tuning Decisions and Performance:
Accountable for developing and maintaining the long term or short term strategic parameter and feature tuning requirements to maximize the customer satisfaction.
Identifying new features and parameter settings through analysis of business needs and technology opportunities.
Accountable for the decisisons to purchase new Software features to enhance the user experience.
Accountable for delivering optimal performance with parameter settings of the 2G/3G network by overseeing design, integration, hardware and software upgrades, and other system modifications or upgrades.
Ensuring that the network operates in line with the defined strategy, roadmap, policy, process and project plan in an effort to significantly improve the quality of products and services that technical engineeering team deliver.
Accountable for the delivery of the test & implementation process and procedures for 2G/3G+ Network basis parameters.
Accountable for parameter and feature tuning activities aiming to improve OPEX and CAPEX savings in the Network.
Accountable for searching and implementing alternative network solutions to minimize the investment while maximising the impact on the network's performance.
Accountable for the trials of the tools/services that are going to employed for parameter tuning.
Responsible for Vendor Basis Audit Cycles Management.
At least 8+ years of GSM/UMTS Performance Engineering with some knowledge of main services and protocols according to the following domains:
RAN Engineers: RANAP, ALCAP, DTAP, BSSMAP, SS7, TCP/IP, HTTP.
In depth knowledge in LTE/WCDMA RF principle and fundamentals and E RAN algorithm, parameters, performance counters, network KPI, signalling flow and protocol
Experience and knowledge on E2E Mobile Broadband (RAN and Core) network performance and optimization is an added advantage
Experience and knowledge on service assurance performance and optimization is an added advantage
Good knowledge in excel macro programming, Database (MS Access) is an added advantage
Extensive technical knowledge and experience of GSM/GPRS/EDGE Networks for one of the vendors: NSN, Ericsson.
Extensive technical knowledge and experience of WCDMA/UMTS
