RAN Design Engineer

Our client, a major mobile telecommunication company are looking to recruit a RAN design Technical SME to join their team based in Guildford.

RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

- Act as Subject Matter Expert in RAN Infrastructure Design with specialism in AC/DC Power, cooling systems and equipment enclosures
- Liaise with customers to understand and interpreted their design requirements, assisting them in the development and implementation of Mechanical, Electrical and Cabinet design strategies, standards and guidelines across the network.
- Assist or represent the customer when liaising with shareholders and attend meetings as required to influence on best practice.
- Liaising with Suppliers to ensure cost-effective design solutions are developed.
- Authoring design documentation, with due consideration given to incorporate different client shareholder requirements.
- Provide technical analysis/comments upon client and shareholder design proposals.
- Ensure that all documentation provides sufficient information and adequately meets the client's needs in support of any new Product Information.
- Respond to Client work instructions by producing a detailed assessment of time and resources required along with time scales required (IA)

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

CORE COMPETENCES:

- Have a detailed in depth knowledge of the IEE Wiring Regulations BS7671, and how to interpret and apply them.
- Presentation & communication skills

PREFERRED SKILLS:

- Building industry insight- Know of and be familiar with CDM regulations, HSE and Health and safety at work act, ESTSI Standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

- HND in Electrical Mechanical Design accompanied with a minimum of 10 years' experience working at a suitable level within a relevant industry (eg Building services design consultant)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

- [Degree in electrical/mechanical engineering with a minimum of 5 years post grad in relevant building services industry sector, experience as above]

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS, PHYSICAL DEMANDS, REGION/LOCAL SPECIFICATIONS:

- Travel to customer office locations, customer suppliers, site visits, surveys.
- Must have UK driving licence
