An opportunity has arisen for a senior quantity surveyor to join the existing team of a large main contractor within the rail to work on access for all projects in the Southern region. Our client is looking for a quantity surveyor to join the existing commercial team to accommodate for their increased workload.

Location : near Guildford

Rate : up to 350 per day (dependent on experience)

Role profile:
The successful candidate will:
- Be involved with final accounts
- Liaise with clients
- Liaise with subcontractors
- Negotiate compensation events
- Cost reporting
- Manage sub-contractors
- Attend meetings when required with staff and clients
- Compose CVR's
- Make application for payments
- Cost control management

Candidate profile:
The successful candidate will:
- Come from a main contractor background - this is essential
- Have prior rail experience - this is essential
- Have a civils background
- Sound construction knowledge and understanding
- Be computer literate
- Have experience working on claims
- Be a competent negotiator
- Have worked on Access for All scheme before
- Have a solid commercial background
- Worked on NEC

The role will involve occasional travel to site so a UK driving licence is essential.
