Railroad Software Test Design Engineer (f/m)

Harvey Nash are a global Professional Services provider in the areas of Technology and Engineering Recruitment and Outsourcing. For our client we are currently looking for a Railroad Software Test Design Engineer (f/m) to join on the basis of a long-term freelance relationship.

Project Start: 01.11.15
Project duration: 6 Months++
Location: Derby, UK

Task description :
* Work as a member of a team to design, implement, enhance, maintain and execute test cases from software or hardware modules up to functional integration on vehicle level
* Deliver the tests and document the results in time and with the agreed quality
* Analyze problems and solve them

Technical Know-how :
* ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level
* Proficient in one or more following programming languages, C/C++, C#, Java, Python
* Experience with test cases development
* Experience with test script development for automated testing
* Extensive technical understanding of electrical and/or digital systems used in railroad vehicles
* Understanding of performance assessment, black box / white box testing and according methods
* Minimum three years of experience as designer of safety critical systems and/or software tests
* High readiness for action, team-minded and communicative

Nice to have knowledge :
* Experience with requirements design
* Experience with Soft- and Hardware In the Loop (SIL / HIL) test solutions
* Experience in testing railroad vehicle software applications
* Knowledge of field bus technologies, e.g. MVB (Multifunction Vehicle Bus), WTB (Wire Train Bus)

Languages :
* Fluent in spoken and written English is required for team communication and documentation.
