Rail Project Director

Project Director x 3 - £700-800 p/d Ltd - 8/9 months - London - Rail

Commercial Project Director To support the sponsorship, management and implementation of a number of programme, commercial and technical work streams, including procurement governance, infrastructure and rolling stock specification and rail operations relocation.

The specific challenges include:
* Ensuring rigourous scrutiny, value for money and appropriateness of expenditure
* Ensuring HS2 Ltd major infrastructure approvals governance is efficiently achieved to demanding timescales
* Project managing the implementation of operational and infrastructure programmes to enable implementation of core infrastructure programme
* Sponsoring the development of a preferred strategy for rolling stock specification and procurement.
* Lodging necessary, timely amendments to the HS Bill in Autumn 2015 that enable overall programme to be maintained

Procurement Sponsor - Lead support - Project manage procurement approval governance of major procurements and ensure programme adherence. Support commercial negotiations with key stakeholders.

Rolling Stock and Systems Lead Support (Grade 7/PB6) Provide project management and technical oversight sponsor support of HS2 Ltd development and implementation of a preferred strategy for rolling stock specification and procurement. Euston Station Sponsor Grade 7/PB6) Oversight and co-ordination of all aspects of HS2 project relating to development of Euston Station and its rail operations.

Significant engagement with key rail industry stakeholders Old Oak Common Sponsor Grade 7/PB6) Active project management and commercial implementation, through rail industry, of range of interventions to relocate current operations

Experience Required:
* Programme & Project Management (PPM) Extensive experience of Programme Management and Sponsorship of significant capital infrastructure projects with the ability to manage a portfolio of complex work streams
* A sound knowledge of effective project governance and reporting.
* Commercial and negotiating skills
* Rolling stock and systems, technical specification and project management
* Experienced interpersonal and leadership skills.
* Experience in the UK Rail sector desirable.
* Experience of UK National government processes desirable.
