Rail (Construction) Project Manager

Our client is a Transport organisation, currently engaged in a large number of projects, including a large construction project. On this, they require an additional Project Manager to ensure successful delivery - specifically working on the important rail element of the project.

Specifically, this will include:
- Management of documentation, approvals and possessions required from Network Rail and other third parties. 
- Chairing project meetings with the design team, contractor, Network Rail and other stakeholders 
- Managing and overseeing the communication between all parties 
- Managing the forward planning of future submissions and to work to meet deadlines required 
- Managing, organising and maintaining required possessions, isolations, blockades required for work 
- Organising rail replacement services and passenger information updates 
- Reporting/briefing on progress, risks and issues

This role will involve working with a wide variety of people & issues and therefore will be quite complex. There is a high amount of administration involved.

The position will involve working on the client site roughly two days per week, with some site-based work but c50-60% remote (home) working.

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager who has strong organisational, stakeholder management and organisational skills. A rail background is essential as it the ability to appropriately challenge stakeholders and work independently. We require experience of construction/engineering/
technical type projects (not IT). Experience of managing Network Rail approvals and handling possession issues is advantageous.

Formal Project Management qualifications are advantageous. Quick interview and start required. Initial 4 month contract.
