Radio Planning & Design Engineer (Macro Network)

RADIO PLANNING & DESIGN ENGINEER (MACRO NETWORK)

My client, a leading telecommunications business, is currently seeking a Radio Planning & Design Engineer (Macro Networks and/or Indoor Design) on a contract basis in the Netherlands.

The successful candidate will support the network service delivery objectives with regard to roll-out services. The Radio Design & Planning Engineer will guarantee optimal coverage & capacity planning according to the customer's business objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- RF planning for Macro Network GSM/UMTS/LTE and/or indoor designs
- Support the nominal planning, candidate selection and site surveys up to site acceptance
- Create work orders in workflow management systems
- Calculate and determine network impact for coverage and capacity expansions
- Evaluate (drive) test data to identify performance issues
- Recommend RF solutions and carry out changes to improve site performance
- Support corporate coverage requests
- Support site share & courtesy requests
- Support RF system introduction process
- Support governmental regulation requests
- Discuss solutions with site engineers, negotiators and landlords on site

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

- Bachelor degree (technical/telecommunications)
- A minimum of 3 years relevant working experience in the RF planning field
- Specialized in RF Planning and Optimisation (GSM, UMTS, LTE)
- Familiar with RF planning and mobile operator roll-out process
- Experiences in RF hardware configurations and system updates/upgrades
- Knowledge of tools eg Atoll, iBwave, Mapinfo, etc.
- Very experienced in Link Budget calculation and validation
- Strong analytical skills to determine radio network impact in changing environments
- Safety training (VCA, Working at heights)
- Speaks English fluently and clearly, speaks preferably Dutch also
