RAC DBA

Next Ventures is urgently looking for a RAC DBA - Database Admin for contract work in Geneva, Switzerland.

ESSENTIAL:

-Good knowledge in the installation and administration of Oracle Databases in production environments.
-Good knowledge of Oracle RAC and metro clusters
-Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
-Practical experience with interactive systems, advanced understanding of relational databases.
-Knowledge of Service Level Management Principles.
-Excellent analytical, problem solving and learning skills
-Strong communication skills in English, both oral and written

REQUESTED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL:

-University degree in computer or information science, mathematics or related field.

DESIRABLE:

-ITIL Foundation Certificate and PRINCE2 certification

REQUESTED EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL:

-Ten years or more of experience in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
-Good experience in Oracle database administration with technical knowledge of tools/features such as RAC, Oracle Grid Control, RMAN and DataGuard.
-Good knowledge of Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC).
-Experience in support of backup, monitoring, disaster recovery solutions.
-Familiarity with IT project and service management standards, frameworks, methodologies and best practices such as PRINCE2, ITIL.
-Ability to work productively under pressure, even when clear direction and/or information in not always available.

DESIRABLE:

-Experience in supporting PeopleSoft and E-business ERPs
-International work experience
-Experience of project management
-Working knowledge of French
