Leading international manufacturer of bespoke machinery seeks experienced design engineer to work on the conceptual design and development of new products to meet customer requests. The current vacancy requires someone who can take on the following responsibilities: - Produce high quality mechanical new product designs to specification - To develop designs from first principles using best practice processes and systems, and ensuring compliance with existing and upcoming regulations. - To provide mechanical technical solutions from within the R&D team. - To work closely with Product Managers to ensure solutions are in line with market requirements, and internal and external customer requirements. - To provide mechanical design solutions for the engineering team using design tools (3D CAD (SolidWorks), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) & Finite Element Analysis (FEA). - To complete acceptance testing (both in factory - FAT, and at customer site - SAT. - To provide hands on development testing of prototypes. To fulfil this position they require an experienced design engineer with the following skills: - A team player passionate about engineering - Engineering Design (Electro-Mechanical) to Degree level. - Ideally 5+ years demonstrable experience in a mechanical design and development role working in a design for manufacture product development environment. - Significant experience in: Mechanical system design including electro-mechanical systems. Testing and Developing of prototype designs Product lifecycle with product approvals / CE compliance Compiling of product technical files - Competent working appreciation of regulatory compliance (CE) marking requirements and associated regulations. - Knowledge and experience of implementing and developing quality procedures such as ISO9001 essential. Knowledge of Environmental and Health and Safety standards ISO14001 & OHSAS18001 would be an advantage. Interested?
