I have a requirement for several Quantity Surveyors/Cost Managers for a large capital project delivery programme encompassing various building and civil engineering projects within the Utility industry.

We're ideally seeking highly experienced, flexible individuals who are able to work across the UK on multiple projects. This is a client side role so you need to be competent in cost management and control, able to establish trends and flag up cost variance identifying why they are increasing or decreasing. You will have excellent communication skills dealing with individuals at all levels and will be competent in delivering easily digested cost reporting.

Job Purpose:

To ensure that projects with cost variance or those trending towards cost variance are being reviewed an actions to mitigate are being put in place.

Accountabilities:

Build a definition of the methodology for undertaking cost analysis of projects across the total portfolio.

Undertake a detailed monthly analysis of projects in terms of cost variance and trending to pin point those projects which need further management intervention

Develop and implement tools and techniques required to undertake the analysis (currently developing Cobra)

Support the definition of data requirements, communicate to the contributors and ensure that the requirements are being delivered

Contribute to a cost control culture within the organisation and provide support, education and training at all levels whilst promoting best practice

Provide accruals, SPI, CPI and Earned Value analysis

Maintain contingency and contingency draw downs

Knowledge and Experience Required

Experience and track record of cost control is essential

People management skills at all levels
