Quantity Surveyor

We are currently looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor, location flexible within my clients Commercial Support Team.

As a key member of the team you will provide commercial and contractual support to our operational staff, together with dealing with our customers on a regular basis.

Position Overview

The position of Quantity Surveyor reports directly to the Commercial Manager.

The main performance objectives for the position are as follows:

Establish close relationships with our team of operational staff, providing contractual and commercial support to enable them to manage and run our existing contracts effectively.

Establish working relationships with our customers and manage the contractual and commercial aspects of contracts that you have specific responsibility for.

Have an overview of the closing out of final accounts across our contracts, ensuring that accounts are agreed with customer commercial staff.

Ensure sub-contract accounts are agreed and handover documentation is provided as required.

„XWorking with our Supply Chain Manager to gain knowledge of our suppliers and assist in the management of supplier sub-contracts.

Visiting sites to work with operational teams in situ to gain experience on service delivery.

Monitoring of budgetary information on the performance of contracts.

Preparation of subcontract tendering information to issue to supply chain, contractors and suppliers.

Profile

You will be a Quantity Surveyor with around 5 - 10 years experience, of which your most recent experience will have been within a maintenance contracting environment or similar. You should preferably be educated to Degree level and have attained Chartered (MRICS) status, although consideration will be given to those with suitable relevant experience. Experience of working within the property management side of large Estates will be of particular benefit.

As the position will involve some travel in the UK, candidates should note that there is a requirement to visit sites which may involve overnight stays, not usually more than 2 ¡V 3 nights at any one time.

A combination of a hands-on approach combined with solid technical experience will be required. The ideal candidate will be looking to develop themselves and reach their full potential.
