An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join one of the UKs most successful independent engineering consultancies. The company specialises in providing control systems for the aerospace, defence, marine and energy sectors. Supporting the Marine and Industrial Systems Business Unit, specialising in submarine autopilot and industrial control systems, the successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of a number of projects to time, cost and quality objectives and be the main point of contact for customers whilst leading the project teams. Key Accountabilities: * Responsible for the delivery of projects in line with the project Business Case to agreed timescale, budget and quality objectives, working in accordance with the defined project framework and procedures. * Responsible for project management planning and the execution of (not limited to) Schedule, Requirements, Configuration, Risk, Change, Health & Safety and Security management in compliance with the agreed customer & Company standards and requirements. * Ensure that the project requirements and tasks are correctly interpreted, planned, resourced and delivered. * Reporting to both internal & external customers on programme, technical, commercial and quality/ performance, risks and issues. * Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal departments. * Ensure project budgetary control is maintained, including the management of supplier purchasing. * Act as an interface between Business Unit and Operations group - quality, commercial, procurement, accounts, IT to maximise project efficiency. * Support to the Business Managers for business development activities that align with the Company's strategic objectives. * Accountable to the Business Managers when acting as Bid Manager, taking responsibility for the preparation, planning, pricing and co-ordination activities for allocated proposals. * Support in the development Best Practice methods across all project teams. * Take Line Management responsibility as required. Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills: Essential * Proven track record of project management within an engineering environment. * Proven ability to manage, high complexity projects delivering to time, budget and scope constraints * Excellent leadership skills - ability to build and lead a project team. * Proven background of working within a quality environment, such as AS/EN9100 or ISO 9001:2008.
