Quality Lead

Business Line: Valve Solutions

Job Description:

* Ensure QC labor is utilized in the most efficient and effective manner. Motivate workers to provide and instill a positive work environment.
* Interface with various groups with all support departments to provide the highest quality product and best customer satisfaction.
* Actively pursues and suggests operational improvements to enhance quality, improve production, throughput and cost reduction.
* Inspects and measures parts using precision measuring equipment to determine conformance to material specifications.
* Interface with third party inspectors as needed.
* Prepare and maintain quality verification documentation.
* Develops training programs as required to improve employee skills. Communicates and trains manufacturing personnel on inspection related activities to include material conformance, API, ISO standards.
* Develop and maintain Welding Procedures, Welder Performance Qualification Records and perform welding inspection. Supervise and co-ordinate Non Destructive Testing Inspection activities
* Oversee Metrology activities including maintaining measuring tools and calibration records
* Performs at least two of the level II inspection methods as follows: LP, MP and UT.
* Within the scope of the job requirements, will be required to adhere and comply with state and federal law, the Company's ISO Quality Program and procedures, Company's policies and Safety and Environmental Regulations.

Required Skills:

* Minimum of four (4) years' experience inspecting pressure equipment. Non Destructive Examination experience required.
* Advanced knowledge of tool, gage and instrument operations. Advanced knowledge of sketches blueprints, drawings and specifications with a basic understanding of geometric tolerance and dimensions. Advanced knowledge of industry specifications including but not limited ISO, API, ANSI, ASTM, ASME, and PED.
* Must have advanced knowledge of following inspection methods: Welding, Liquid Penetrant (LP) and Magnetic Particle (MP). Manufacturing experience with fabrications, castings, forgings, machining and rotating equipment.
* Strong customer service skills in managing difficult client, vendor, audit agencies or customer situations by responding promptly to requests. Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others. Strong problem solving skills achieved in a timely manner.
* Must possess basic math skills to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry and algebra for the purpose material verification.
* Successfully pass the JAEGER II Eye Test and Color Blindness Test upon employment and on an annual basis.
