Quality Engineer Job

QUALITY ENGINEER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Suitland, MD.

THE BIG PICTURE:

- A successful candidate will be experienced in leading Testing efforts for enterprise grade systems development initiatives.
- Functioning in an Agile development environment, Test Lead will be responsible for defining the test plan, leading and supporting test execution, reporting on test progress, and communicating with the customer as needed.
- The testing will exercise all components of a GIS data collection system (spatial, attribute, address) that has a Web based (HTML5/J2EE/Oracle) and standalone (PC/MAC) end-user interface

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Contribute to the SDLC activities on a team consisting of senior developers, systems engineers and government staff.
- Understanding of industry testing standards and best practices, keeping current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Create test plans/scenarios/procedures that encompass numerous testing activities such as functional, non-functional, regression, security, performance, etc.
- Utilize customer enterprise tools for testing activities such as HP ALM, LoadRunner, QTP, etc.
- Proactively seeks opportunities to implement improvements to internal team processes.
- Contributes to an atmosphere of cross-functional teamwork within the organization's Agile project life cycle.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10 plus years of professional software development experience.
- Three (3) plus years of experience analysing, designing and implementing test plans for web based systems.

- GIS experience is preferred
- HP ALM experience is preferred
- LoadRunner experience is preferred
- QTP experience is preferred
- Oracle Spatial experience is preferred
- Java experience is preferred
