Quality Engineer

We are looking for a QA engineer to our team for a temporal replace for a maternity leave, for at least 18 months. Our product under test simulates network protocols and acts exactly as a real service without the need to access it.

The product supports several transport and message protocols: REST, HTTP, various message queues for transport; SOAP, XML, Cobol etc. for messages. Our product integrates with several other HP products.

The QA engineers need to be proficient in administration and working with the above mentioned and many other network technologies, and provide support for distributed developer teams in creating testing services on various protocols. In overall, the job is not about being a manual tester, but rather an experienced administrator or integrator with skills described in the next sections.

Automated testing skills
GUI automated testing experience (QTP or anything else) for desktop apps in .NET
Web 2.0 automated testing experience (Selenium, TruClient)
Coding/Scripting skills. We would need the QA engineer not only to be able to record a test case in QTP/Selenium, but also to be able to take generated script by QTP or classes/scripts in Java/Python/C# from Selenium and edit them, be able to create new testcases without recording by re-using already existing functions etc.

Technologies
XML, including advanced knowledge, for example XML schema etc.
Message buses (JMS/MQ/IMS/Tibco)
Advanced experience with SOAP stack
REST
SAP

Advanced database experience is a plus. The QA engineer needs to be able to install and administrate the DB server, be able to create a program to communicate with DB via JDBC/ODBC, compose complex SQL queries, at least be aware of existence of things like cursors, schedulers, difference between views and tables, stored procedures etc.

English
Ability to work with distributed teams - currently we closely work with 3 locations

QA skills:
test according to test case, work with defect management system (open/add info/verify), work with developer directly, create test cases, investigate new features, sit with devs on scrum sessions and be able to give input/feedback
Experience with usability testing is a plus
Experience with Win/Linux administration including ability to write bash/Perl/python/vbasic scripts
