Quality Engineer - West Midlands

Our client is looking for a hand's on quality engineer to work in the aerospace industry in the Midlands.

The role is to reduce in-process product defects and or non-conformities and improve the quality of the finished product by structured investigation using implementation of quality principles, along both the production line and production inspection.

The ideal candidate would have a solid knowledge of quality analytical and problem solving techniques including 8D, 7 Step, 5Y, 6S, Root Cause Analysis and have experience in ISO 9001, AS9100 and aerospace standards.

The role requires experience in Process Measurement techniques (KPIs, SPC) and the ability to work in a high pressure environment. Strong interpersonal and verbal skills are important as the role requires the successful candidate to discuss, advise and liaise with internal and external customers. The candidate needs to be educated to a minimum of HNC or equivalent in a science, engineering or manufacturing related discipline.
