Quality Engineer

Long term contract opportunities for a large multi disciplinary contractor. Exciting new project with potential for career progression and the opportunity to be a part of a large inovative team. Interviews to take place next week. The safety case engineers/ safety case authors are needed to aid with the cleanup project for a large nuclear site. The roles are based in theBristolarea with travel toScotlandon a regular basis. They are contract positions with 12 month rolling duration. The rate will be around £60-65/hour. The safety case engineers/ safety case technical authors will be responsible for: Producing reports to support the preliminary safety reports already in place. The Pre-Construction Safety Report will cover topics such as: - key features, purpose, boundaries of the project - safety argument and summary of supporting analysis (eg. from HAZANs) - demonstration that design safety principles and other criteria are satisfied - safety related equipment - ALARP Relevant experience for the safety case engineer: - Draft OPEX questionnaire. - Identify relevant technical information from the nuclear industry (eg. the processing of liquid metals, waste shredder operations, handling of waste, human factors). - Interrogate OPEX databases where possible, send out questionnaire and obtain responses. - Collect and collate relevant OPEX (positive and negative). HAZID (non-HAZOP) - we also require an individual with a background in FMEA (FMECA), checklist assessment of plant items, and general HAZID skills for nuclear plants.
