Quality Engineer

Role - Contract Quality Engineer (9months) Lancashire based Rate: £24 to £30 per hour Quality Engineer - My client is looking for an experienced Quality Engineer within the general manufacturing industry who manufactures small pieces of equipment that gets shipped worldwide. Within this role you will be working within a small of team of engineers and will be involved with all quality issues, internally and externally with customers and suppliers. . The Role: As a Quality Engineer you will be responsible for improving Quality processes and solving day to day issues. Duties will include: - Maintain in-house metrics that detail where non-conformities occur - Produce ISIR, PPAP documentation - Formalise a supplier returns policy - Manage internal/external ISO 9000 audits - Maintain QA/QS documentation - Manage, resolve and maintain Warranty returns - Produce visual aids, train operators to inspect their own work - Dealing with customer concerns, being on site, organising containment and root cause fixes - Managing and streamlining goods inwards process, aim for suppliers to be self-certified - Facilitating multi-functional teams The Candidate As Quality Engineer you will need the following - HNC in mechanical engineering or similar - At least 2 years recent experience as Quality Engineer in a small, manufacturing organisation (You can have many years' experience also) - You will have a good understanding of small pressings, mouldings, fabrications, assemblies - Demonstrate ability to use Quality tools mentioned in section above - Be flexible on working hours (there is a standard working day but you would be expected to resolve any issue around this) - Be able to demonstrate practical not just strategic quality experience
