Quality Engineer

Summary:
The Quality Engineer must provide solid technical and analytical skills in order to be successful in this position. This individual shall be responsible for overseeing the quality testing program for new and revised products and processes. This individual will also be responsible for all aspects of the measurement systems. As a Quality Engineer, this person will be involved in various quality assurance and quality control activities on the production floor and will support various functional teams to achieve the best quality products possible.

Essential Functions:

* Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the quality testing program for new and revised products and processes, which includes:
* Supervising the testing team
* Developing standardized testing protocols for critical to quality customer requirements
* Managing the testing queue and troubleshooting of testing failures
* Providing sound statistical data analysis to ensure effective communication of the final test results.
* Measurement Systems Analysis
* Develop, maintain and implement test methods for all critical to quality tests by conducting design of experiments as necessary
* Establish and maintain an effective calibration program
* Implement a program for conducting qualification activities of new equipment and processes prior use in production.
* Maintain product specifications and assist in the development of specifications for new products while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
* Act as a resource for using various Six Sigma tools (in addition to those previously listed) such as root cause analysis, cause and effect diagrams, process flow mapping, hypothesis testing, and design of experiments.
* Implement statistical process controls and other data analysis using software programs such as ASI and Minitab.
* Actively participate in required functions needed to ensure adherence to the ISO 9001:2008 program by conducting internal audits, managing the disposition of nonconforming material and assisting in implementing effective corrective actions.

Requirements/Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree with an engineering or statistical background. Two to four years of related experience and/or training may be helpful but not required.
* American Society of Quality Certification as Quality Engineer is preferred, but not required.
* Certified Six Sigma Green Belt is preferred, but not required.
* Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents to drive improvement or change.
* Ability to create complex documents that communicate work instructions effectively.
* Effective in managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
* Self-motivated and able to work independently.
* Ability to work cross-functionally across various departments throughout the organization.

Computer Skills:
* Ability to use Microsoft Office 2010
* Minitab experience is desired
* Ability to learn new software programs as required for data collection through various measurement systems
