Quality Engineer

IMMEDIATE NEED! QUALITY ENGINEER contract opportunity at a manufacturing firm in west Chicago, IL metro. Projected assignment length is 8+ months. Local candidates.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Will spend 90% of time on shop floor assisting inspectors in manufactured product inspections, performing radius checks, basic layout measurements and surface plate inspections, gauge R&R calibrations, optical inspections
- Complete the final inspections
- Complete the FMEA's and Control plans for project/procedures
- Perform value stream mapping and capability studies

REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor Degree in technical area preferred, BUT will consider a technical AS Degree and strong compensating experience
- Minimum 3 to 5+ years of Quality Experience in the Aerospace or Automotive industry and experience with inspection techniques such as optical inspections, radius readings, surface plate basic layout measurements
- Needs hands on experience with Gauge R e.g. AS9100, ISO9001, FAA FAR regulations
- A PLUS to have CQE or CQA certifications
- A PLUS to have metal working background such as: heat treating, plating, grinding, polishing, etc
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint, A PLUS to have knowledge of Minitab
- Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and a collaborative work style
