Quality Control Technician

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

- To analyze products, intermediates, and raw materials to assure and document that products meet specifications and customer requirements.
- To operate QC instrumentation in a safe, professional manner.
- To follow established quality, safety, and environmental procedures and policies.
- To notify QC Supervisor or Q Manager of unusual product observations, or analytical results, during analysis or sample handling to assure potential quality issues identified, reviewed and resolved prior to release of product.
- To communicate to QC Supervisor or Q Manager specific information with regard to product information from R recognizes problems and seeks help for resolution.
- Demonstrates basic knowledge and understanding of chemical analysis.
- Perform chemical calculations per the SOP.
- Successfully use instrument computer programs.
- Perform basic troubleshooting with program issues with instrumentation with guidance from a more senior tech.
- Perform QC performance checks, calibrations following the standard operating procedures.
- Complete training proficiency satisfactory and timely.
- Awareness of company safety rules and safety procedures.
- Use appropriate QC instrumentation to perform QC analysis per the SOP.

SKILLS:

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

- Prefer Associates degree with previous experience with lab and/or industrial experience. Please NO M.S. or Ph.D. degrees.
- Prefer candidates with experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Effective communication is required in all positions. This communication may be verbal and/or written as determined by the supervisor and may be directed to various other positions within the company. In addition, there may be other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Knowledge of safe laboratory work practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills to enable interface with fellow Technicians, and Quality Supervisor/Manager, and operators/personnel from R&D, PPD, & Production.
- Organizational skills to maintain orderly documentation needed and to Multi-task.
- Strong computer skills (WORD, EXCEL, PP, ACCESS)
- * CANDIDATE MUST HAVE CHEMISTRY BACKGROUND.
