Quality Control Specialist

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a QUALITY CONTROL SPECIALIST to join our client in Marlborough, MA.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Ensure all applications adhere to high quality standards. Performs and leads tests of software to ensure proper operation. May create test data for applications. Documents and works to resolve complex problems. Creates various testing scripts based on technical and user requirements. Performs setup and verification of test data, executes tests scripts and verifies results. Works on small to large complex projects that require increased skill in multiple technical environments. Possess knowledge in a specific business area.
- Reviews and analyze both business and technical requirements of multiple web based applications/systems and provide detailed quality assurance analysis measuring product specification completeness, clarity and readiness for design and development planning.
- Develop, review and execute End-to-End Test Plans, Scenarios and Test cases according to product specification and track the test coverage through requirements traceability matrixes (RTMs).
- Plan and execute various types of manual testing. (Positive, Negative, Blackbox, Smoke, System, Backend, Integration, Regression, Compatibility Vulnerability, Security, End to End and UAT) measuring test coverage and application readiness through metrics.
- Coordinate and execute QA tasks and deliverables throughout the SDLC phases
- Define and maintain required Test environments and test data.
- Interact and coordinate with Project Mgmt., Product Mgmt., R&D and TCoE during test preparation and execution through status meetings, status reports and detailed defects reporting identifying testing status, risks and remediation plans.
- Conduct and coordinate defects triage meetings during system and UAT test phases
- Provide daily and weekly thorough testing score cards and status reports according to TCoE standards.
- Assist in enforcing the Testing Center of Excellence group policies and standards and governance strategy to ensure product quality standards and testing processes execution throughout the SDLC.

Job Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, MIS, or Engineering
- Seven (7) plus years of hands-on experience in software quality assurance and manual testing of web based enterprise applications in a fast-paced agile environment.
- Hands-on experience in defining and executing various test type and methodologies during the product SDLC measuring test coverage and application readiness through metrics.
- Experience with Agile/SCRUM methodologies
- Ability to take ownership of tasks and work independently
- Working knowledge of defining and implementing various test methodologies, types and testing tools.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and database technology
- Working experience with defects tracking systems such as Jira, QC...etc.
- Testing experience with Web Servers, SQL Server, Network Based applications
- Good understanding of computer security (Vulnerabilities, patches, best practices)
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Job Skills/Experience/Knowledge:

- Experience with automated and performance software testing tools Scripting and execution
- Working experience in a Testing Center of excellence
