Quality Compliance Auditor

Job Purpose:
Provide support to the Compliance Manager and other members of the Compliance team including Quality Manager and Compliance Auditors. Monitor compliance with Building Regulations, LA Planning Applications, implementing new Policy Instructions and similar directives. Assist with ad hoc audits and reporting.

Responsibilities:

- Support the Compliance Manager;

o Review publications issued by the client including Estate Strategy and Policy Information Notes, Policy Instructions and provide advice for management upon impact and cost of contract deliverables.
o Undertake ad hoc audits to support providing client assurance.
- Support the Quality Manager;

o Develop flow-charts and processes.
o Carry out QA audits.
o Carry out 5% Compliance Audits.
o Seek to deliver continuing improvement and business best practice.
- Co-ordinate information and monitor deliverables for reporting on;

o Listed buildings quadrennial inspections.
o Town and Country Planning including developing BD policy and procedure.
o Leased Assets.
o Building Regulation compliance.

Skills required:

As a minimum:
- Degree or B Tech in construction, building services or related discipline.
- Experience Auditor.
- Good oral and written communication skills and able to produce clear, concise reports.
- Good IT skills & familiar with basic Microsoft and other computer programmes.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently from vested interests.

Additional skills / qualifications which would strengthen an application:
- Understanding the principles of Prime Contracting and supply chain management and partnership arrangements.
- Knowledge of contract financial management.
- Knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007, Building Regulations and other construction related statutory regulation.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Professional Qualifications required:
Degree or B Tech in construction, building services or related discipline.
ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Assessor.

Experience (Technical and Managerial)

Essential:
- Knowledge of building, building services, sustainable construction preferably with building and civil engineering bias.
- Ability to review new and proposed changes to legislation, procedures and advise upon the likely impact to project and maintenance works.
- Good oral and written communication skills and able to produce clear, concise reports.

Desirable:
- Has worked on facilities management or construction contracts.
- Knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007, Building Regulations and other construction related statutory regulation.
- Knowledge of the BS EN ISO 14001:2004 & BS OHSAS 18001:2007 Standards.

Knowledge

Essential:
- Quality Management System to BS EN ISO 9001:2008
- Abreast of current construction industry legislation and best-practice.
