Quality Assurance Technician at Somersworth, NH

DESCRIPTION:

- This position will work in the Meters department, working with line operators do conduct quality audits and testing of product (electric meters).
-  Will analyze the data and provide to management.
- Will work with Quality Engineers to change processes if needed.
- Will need a 2 year post high school technical degree, preferably in Electronics.
- 3+ year of Quality Audit/test experience, related to product.
- The Engineering Technician performs non-routine and complex assignments involving responsibility for planning and conducting a complete project of relatively limited scope of a portion of a larger and more diverse project.
- May coordinate portions of overall assignments; reviews, analyzes, and integrates the technical work of others.
- Provides work direction and team leadership to direct operators.
- Supervisor or engineer outlines objectives, requirements, and design approaches; complete work is reviewed for technical adequacy and satisfaction of requirements. May be assisted by lower level technicians.
- Must be skilled in at least three (3)* (one of which must be the primary job content) basic technologies Electromechanical, Electronics, Chemicalconducts tests or experiments; analyzes results and redesigns or modifies equipment to improve performance; reports results.
- Plans or assists in planning tests to evaluate product performance.
- Determines test requirements, equipment modifications, and test procedures; conducts tests, analyzes and evaluates data, and prepares reports on findings and recommendations.
- Reviews and analyzes a variety of engineering data to determine requirements to meet engineering objectives; may calculate data; prepares layouts, detailed specifications, parts lists. May check and analyze drawings or equipment to determine adequacy of drawings and design.
- Working knowledge of the theoretical and practical application of all forms of solid state electronic components, from transistors to large-scale integrated circuits (microprocessors, memory devices, industry standard linear and digital small scale and medium scale integrated circuits).
- Broad spectrum of programming skills including both assembly language for microprocessors and higher level languages and how these are applied to our product designs and automatic test equipment.
- Adaptability to working with a wide variety of computers from different manufacturers.
- Thorough working knowledge of complex troubleshooting equipment (storage oscilloscopes, curve tracers, programmable logic analyzers, digital oscilloscopes).
- Implementing and developing test programs for electronic assemblies from the device level to final product test. This requires a thorough knowledge of complex test equipment.

EDUCATION:

- 2 years. technical education beyond High School or equivalent and is expected to maintain proficiencies in required technologies (courses, etc.)

SKILLS:

MUST BE PROFICIENT IN AT LEAST (1) OF THE REQUIRED TECHNOLOGIES:

- Electromechanical, Combined Electronics, Standards & Calibration, Software & Micro-processing, Instrument Transformer, or Product Support.

EXPERIENCE:

- 3 years assembly/construction/test in related technologies.
- At least 1 year leading teams.
