Quality Assurance Tech

Our client is an online retail giant seeking a sharp and detail-orientated Quality Assurance Engineer who is passionate about quality and games. This candidate must be capable of methodically going through complex systems, testing all use cases and covering all corner cases. Most importantly, s/he will work with the development team to troubleshoot root causes and verify fixes have been implemented properly.

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be in a position to establish the quality assurance principles and influence their future direction.

Responsibilities will include functional testing of device and Back End software and systems, including functionality, usability, performance, scalability, and interoperability. In this position you will partner with Developers, Product Managers, Project Managers, User Experience Designers, and other internal resources to insure a multiple high quality product release.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- 4+ years of software quality assurance engineering experience
- Expert knowledge of QA methodology and industry-standard testing and bug tracking tools

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Diverse QA experience on a variety of platforms: websites, smart phones, rich client applications (PC and Mac), and Back End services
- Experience with Selenium
- Experience testing Back End web services
- Familiarity with Linux
- Experience building test harnesses and test tools
- Fluency in Java and/or C++
- Proven ability to create, execute, and maintain comprehensive and airtight test plans
- Enthusiasm to dig into technical specifications and to troubleshoot problems
- Experience in Perl/Python/JavaScript or another Scripting language and user-level testing automation
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to track multiple test executions simultaneously and synthesize the results
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate cross-functionally and across management levels in formal and informal settings
- Creativity and initiative for improving product coverage and effectiveness

This contract position is expected to be 3 months in duration.
