Our client is a hugely popular online retail company looking for a dedicated and talented Software Quality Assurance Engineer to work on applications and deployment. Systems need to meet remarkably high standards of quality, performance and reliability, operating around the clock on a massive scale. SQA Engineers test code at the user level, both manually and with automated tools. Candidates need to be able to understand software internals, debug problems using log files, and write automated tests with Perl/Java scripts and/or user-level automated tools. The SQA Engineers work with Software Development Engineers to understand features and technical implementation. SQA Engineers also drive the software deployment process. As part of the deployment process, this candidate will provide software change/fix/updates as well as fully test the new features to assure high quality. SQA Engineers will need to carefully plan and follow strict guidelines to deploy software on time while achieving the highest software quality with positive impact on large scale business.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- BS in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodology and tools
- Ability to understand technical specification and analyze log files
- Experience in UI automation
- Capable of communicating cross-functionally and across management levels in both formal and informal settings
- Strong organizational skills, tracking and perform multiple test executions simultaneously and able to synthesize the results
- Shows creativity and initiation to improve product coverage and effectiveness

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in web application testing
- Experience in UI testing
- Ability to work with technical and non-technical business owners

This contract position is expected to be 6 months in duration.
