Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst

Yoh has a long-term contract opportunity for a CLOUD QA ANALYST to support our client in Bloomington, MN. This is an ongoing multiyear opportunity for the successful candidate.

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Analyst will be responsible for implementing, performing and analysing system test cases and augmenting automated testing as part of the Software Development Process for products delivered to customers. Candidates must have good Java coding skills for writing automation scripts. Selenium experience is a major plus.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Support one or more of the client's Cloud computing offerings.
- Adhere to and promote the organization's Software Development Processes.
- Actively participate in meeting organization and company goals.
- Maintain high quality standards while pursuing time-to-market goals.
- Writes and executes complex software test plans and test cases.
- Develops, maintains and executes Java/Junit test framework leveraging existing and future RESTful APIs.
- Executes functional, application, regression and performance tests with high level of effectiveness.
- Works with Director of QA, Lead QA Analyst or other QA Analysts to prioritize software-testing tasks.
- Comprehends user stories to understand task items per story in the context of all levels of testing (unit, functional, integration and regression).
- Assist Agile team with backlog creation and grooming.
- Participates in team decision-making.
- Researches and develops an understanding of the technical requirements for the service and product features being tested, including how the users use the features and their performance requirements for the features.
- Develop and improve test automation by leveraging Java open source and commercial tools.
- Leads enhancement of software and workflow build and release processes and systems.
- Additional technical roles:
- Systems Administrator; Performs tasks as necessary.
- Lab Administrator; Performs tasks as necessary.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- Must have Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent training and work experience.
- Must have over five (5) years of experience in Software Testing.
- Knowledge of test-driven development and the virtues of unit testing
- HANDS-ON AUTOMATED TESTING UTILIZING SELENIUM.
- Hands-on experience in UNIX AND WINDOWS ENVIRONMENTS.
- Hands-on experience with two or more of the Operating Systems listed under preferred skills.
- Hands-on experience with two or more of the Technologies listed under preferred skills.
- Hands-on experience with one or more of the Testing Tools listed under preferred skills.
- Proven experience with large product rollouts.
- Experience in writing unit and integrated test plans.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High initiative, Fast learner, enjoys working in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent organizational and problem solving skills.
- Strong team player, but also self-motivated and able to work independently when necessary.

Preferred Job Skills/Certifications/Knowledge:

- Operating Systems: LINUX/UNIX, MS Windows, Mac OS X.
- Programming Languages: Perl, HTML, SQL, Powershell, and UNIX SHELL SCRIPTING.
- Technologies: Web, Network, Storage, Database, J2EE, Security, VMWARE, AND REST API.
- Testing Tools: SELENIUM, JUNIT, Hudson, and Jenkins.
