Quality Assurance Manager

Quality Assurance Management Consultant opportunity with a client located in rural South Dakota for an air quality control system power plant project. This is a long term contract for someone to develop and implement the project quality oversight plan applicable to the job site and shop activities of suppliers, fabricators, manufacturers and/or contractors. Expenses will be reimbursed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develop and implement an air quality control system project quality oversight plan applicable to the job site and shop activities of suppliers, fabricators, manufacturers and/or contractors
- Ensure that appropriate inspection and witness points have been identified for contractors, suppliers, fabricators, and/or manufacturers
- Ensure the General Works and Boiler Modification contractors meet their quality requirements
- Conduct oversight activities including onsite contractor inspections and records audits
- Conduct physical inspection of equipment or components being constructed or installed by contractors and subcontractors
- Review of contractor submittals, monitor the design change process, verification of survey references along with plumb, level and square measurements for foundations and structures, review of NDE or other construction test results, witness of acceptance or performance tests, etc.
- Oversight of shop activities to include examining documents, conducting inspections, and observing activities in sufficient depth to determine that equipment and/or components are being fabricated/manufactured/assembled in accordance with approved designs, drawings, codes, and/or specifications
- Other duties as typical and assigned for a role of this nature

REQUIREMENTS

- BS Degree in an Engineering / Technical discipline
- 10 - 15 or more years experience working on power generation projects (coal fired plant experience preferred)
- Demonstrated experience in a Quality Management role ideally with AQCS or similar projects
- Demonstrated ability to work with and provide quality oversight to owners engineers, suppliers, fabricators, manufacturers and/or contractors
- Willingness to travel as needed to owners engineers, suppliers, fabricators, manufacturers and/or contractors location for quality inspection and oversight
