My client is a successful electronics engineering / manufacturing company, providing equipment and solutions to the Armed Forces, Offshore Oil and Gas operators and Emergency Services. They are currently seeking Quality Assurance Engineers who have extensive experience within a design and manufacturing company. The successful candidate will have some experience with electrical/electronics, FAI inspection and who are working to ISO 9001 quality standards. Experience within the defence / MOD / Nuclear industry within quality engineering would be desirable but not essential.

THE SALARY/RATE/BENEFITS

* 25 - 35 per hour (LTD / Umbrella)
* Start ASAP (ideally before Christmas)
* 6 - 12 month contract (could continue much longer)

THE CANDIDATE
Quality Assurance Engineer / Quality Inspector / First Article Inspector / 1st Article Inspector

* Educated to HNC/HND/Degree Level in engineering or science discipline
* ISO9001 Internal Auditor
* Experience of applying and maintaining an ISO9001 approved Quality Management System
* Minimum of 2 years experience of performing a Quality Assurance role in a design and manufacturing organisation with some electrical/electronic or software content

THE ROLE
Quality Assurance Engineer / Quality Inspector / First Article Inspector / 1st Article Inspector

* Conducting internal audits on the Company Quality Management System (QMS)
* Monitoring Non-conformances and associated corrective actions
* Conducting Vendor audits/assessments when required
* Performing First Article Inspections on Subcontractor Deliverables
* Provide guidance to all staff on the application of the Company QMS
* Review and approval of deliverable documentation
* Review and approval of Change Requests and Concessions
* Representing the company QA function at internal meetings, design reviews and Customer meetings
* Interpreting implementing and monitoring Customer contractual quality requirements
* Producing and maintaining Quality Plans in accordance with Customer requirements
* Perform final release checks on all deliverable equipment and produce Certificate of Conformity where required
* Presenting contract deliverables and release documentation to the Customer for formal acceptance
* Investigating Quality problems associated with design, production and service
* Proposing/facilitating changes to the QMS to improve product quality and/or business efficiency
