Quality Assurance Engineer

Can you integrate your QA strategy and execution plan with multiple software development teams at once? Are you able to quickly dive deep on bugs to clarify exact reproduction steps and insure appropriate regression over time?

Our client is seeking talented QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEERS (QAE) to test their social experience on different devices. You will design and define the QA processes, develop repeatable and automatable QA systems. You will work with Product Managers and SDEs to understand features and technical implementation. You will identify use cases and create test plans, define test strategies, and create manual and automated test cases in order to report to stakeholders on the quality and reliability of our products across multiple languages and locales.

As a QAE in this role, you are not a pure Black Box tester: you must be able to understand software internals, debug problems using log files, and automate repetitive tasks with Scripting tools or user-level automation tools. You are also the customer advocate and owner of the customer experience for bestselling products.

Knowledge of test processes and methodologies, tools and technology is preferred. Service-oriented architecture, product development life cycles (including C++, Java, XML, messaging protocols, and Web Services) as well as project management basics.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, or similar technical degree, or at least 5 years combination of technical education and work experience
- Minimum of 3 years of software testing experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Fluency in at least one modern programming language such as C, C++, Java, C#, or PERL
- Experience with testing methodologies for client-based apps, including latency and load testing
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Experience with web services and mobile platforms
- Experience with test automation tools, schedulers, frameworks, and harnesses
- Proven experience in measuring and reporting quality and driving improvements across teams via consensus
- Experience designing and implementing test cases, running, and reporting on quality
- Ability to understand functional/technical specifications and analyze data and server logs
- Fluency in at least one Scripting language, and the ability to read Java code
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
