Quality Assurance Engineer

We are looking for a smart and reliable QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEER to own mobile device management and troubleshooting new devices. You will be responsible for helping multiple groups maximize device lifetime, and creating information wikis on how to make the process self-sufficient. You must be able to step in and look into device failures, help root cause, and track failure stats. You must be able operate independently, be technically adept to dive into low-level device software to isolate issues, and be able to manage multiple simultaneous tasks and priorities. Familiarity with the Android platform and Shell Scripting and Python are required.

You must be responsive, able to manage to tight deadlines, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. You must be results orientated and be able to plan and troubleshoot problems with ease. Candidates must be innovative, creative, flexible, self-directed, and must be able to communicate with your customers and partners effectively.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar technical field
- 2+ years of experience as a developer, QA Engineer, or SDET
- Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong writing and documentation skills
- Ability to understand Scripting (Windows and Linux), using computers and debug boards with putty/minicom to root cause device issues, and drive to solutions
- Ability to walk to multiple buildings
- Ability to work unsupervised for periods of time
- Ability to use basic web-based tools and products like Outlook, Excel and Word

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of expertise in an Object Oriented programming language
- Experience with open source tools and resources
- Practical coding experience on a mobile platform
- Ability to use basic Scripting languages
- Familiarity with Android platform, Python, and a good understanding of hardware fundamentals

This contract position is expected to be 6 months in duration.
