FULL TIME, FIXED TERM - 12 MONTHS

ANNUAL SALARY £46,000 - £69,000

THE ROLE

The Quadrant Commissioner (Primary) is a key member of the Standards and Excellence Team. The role reports to the Assistant Commissioner (Primary) within the Education and Learning Services (ELS).
The ELS, part of the Schools', Children and Families (SCF) Directorate, is the champion of pupils, parents and communities, the maker and shaper of effective commissioning and a convenor of partnerships. Members of this team have a key role to play in realising our current priorities, which are for all pupils in Essex to have the opportunity to attend a good or outstanding school and for pupil outcomes to be in the national top quartile.

JOB PURPOSE

The Quadrant Commissioner works in partnership with schools and other educational providers to identify areas for improvement and identify solutions for schools. This involves determining the most efficient and effective response by commissioning the appropriate resources to support improvement, either internally or externally.

THE QUADRANT COMMISSIONER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR:

- Being the conduit for information and communications between schools, providers and LA.
- Ensuring an effective system of support and challenge for maintained schools in their quadrant.
- Maintaining a continued system of monitoring standards and progress across their quadrant.
- Ensuring that children receive their entitlement to provision.
- Ensuring that providers are supported to make the required improvements and that commissioned resource delivers impact and value for money.
- Ensuring the LA meets its statutory responsibilities.
- Carrying through and evaluating key projects as determined by the assistant lead strategic commissioner and ELS.
